Samantha Cogar Obituary

Samantha “Sam” Cogar was born on August 10, 1971 to Peggy Cogar and Donald Cogar. She transition from labor to reward on June 12, 2020 at the UNC Health System.

Sam graduated from Cape Fear High School in 1990. She later began working at Kinlaw’s Welcome Grill and served as an Assistant Manager. She enjoyed going on vacation and her ultimate favorite place to visit was the beach.

Sam was always eager to help and create an environment of joy and laughter. She mostly enjoyed sharing and embracing good time with her friends and family; she was always there for anyone that needed a helping hand, sound advice and a firm shoulder to lean on. If the greatness had a smile; she had it. She had a smile that could warm the coldest of hearts and a beautiful soul.

Sam leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Anthony Cogar, Stanley McDougald, and Sarrina McDougald; one    sister, Tonia Cogar; one nephew, Robert King; one niece,  Taniya Hargroove; six grandchildren: Aliya McDougald, ZyMere McNatt, Nevah Lock, Heavenly Gibbs, Syncere Gibbs, and Elaishia Stokes; one great niece; one great nephew; a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends that has touched through the years.
