In Loving Memory of Ronald Lynn Williams

Ronald Lynn Williams
1943 – 2024

Ron was a wonderful Christian
…father & grandfather
…avid hunter and fisherman
…gifted woodworker
…general contractor …

Ron was born February 24, 1943 in Billings Montana, the son of Hazel (Eastlick) Williams and Harvey Williams. He was baptized March 24,1943 at the historic Methodist church in Park City MT.

Ron grew up in Harlowton MT. His parents often took him camping, fishing and hunting. Ron passed this love of the outdoors to his sons.
The family moved to Billings and Ron graduated from Billings Sr. HS in 1961. After graduating Ron worked as a draftsman for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and took classes at Eastern Montana College (now MSU-B).
It was there he met Judy Harmoning, a teacher at Trinity Lutheran School.
They were married June 6, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Ron was a respected general contractor. Some of his many projects are the remodel the old Custer Hotel, remodel of Lincoln Jr. High that became the administration building for the Billings Public Schools, the Fish & Wildlife Building at Lake Elmo, the family home, and many homes in the area.
God blessed them with three sons: Jason, Jeff, and Jeremy. When Jason was out on his own; and, Jeff and Jeremy in college, Ron and Judy moved to Clinton Twp MI where Judy served as the Minister for Families of Young Children at Trinity Luth. Church. Ron became the leader of a  group of people who worked with technology which supported the music and sound for worship services.

In 2018, after Jeff’s wedding to Jan Tedder, Ron and Judy moved to NC to be closer to them. Ron continued to work/play as he created beautiful pieces from wood. Ron died March 5, 2024, as he sat on the deck looking at the beautiful yard he had worked on for 5 years.

Ron is survived by Judy, his wife of 59 years; sons; Jeff (Jan) their sons: Riggs and Lawson; Jeremy (Kimiko) and son, Tyler. Daughter-in-law Cheryl Denise Williams-Morgan, Alex Batt and Nick Williams wife and sons of Jason, the oldest son (who died in 2009) and Ron’s sister, Sharon Miller (Frisco TX) are still living.
Ron’s cremains will be interred in the Columbarium at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton Twp MI; the date has not been set.
Memorials may be made to the Memorial Trust Fund of Trinity Lutheran.
