Raul Ortegon Obituary

Obituary for Raul Ortegon

Raul Ortegon, beloved son of Jeanette and Raul Ortegon Sr., was born in 1995 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and passed away on November 7, 2024. His early life was filled with the unique experiences of a military family, allowing him to explore places like Japan and Maryland before settling on the U.S. mainland.

A 2013 graduate of Glen Burnie High School, Raul’s passion for technology emerged at a young age through a STEM program, igniting his journey into the world of computer technology. Known as the family’s "Tech Expert," Raul was always ready to lend a hand with his patient and kind spirit. His career path led him to work alongside his mother at Waverly Technology, and later, he took on roles as an IT specialist in San Diego, California, and a network engineer in San Antonio, Texas. In both his personal and professional life, Raul was known for his dedication, compassion, and helpful nature.

During his youth, Raul played in the Anne Arundel County Youth Football League, where he developed lasting friendships and enjoyed being part of a team. Raul was also a devoted member of the East Baltimore Church of Christ, where he built lasting friendships and found a supportive church family. Beyond his work and faith, Raul was an avid gamer and golfer. His love for gaming brought him joy and a sense of community, while the golf course offered him peace and reflection.

Raul leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Jeanette Ortegon; his devoted father, Raul Ortegon Sr.; his sister, Waverly Ortegon; aunts, Lynette Jones, Robin Farris, Nicky Ferdin, Janie Martinez, and Elizabeth Carreon; uncles, Martin Ortegon and William Davis; as well as a host of friends and his church family at the East Baltimore Church of Christ.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, remembered for his gentle spirit, adventurous heart, and unwavering kindness. Raul’s legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the memories he created with family and friends.
