In Loving Memory of Minnie "Saddy” M. Douglas
Minnie McNair Douglas, fondly known as "Sassy," graced this world on August 11, 1962, born to the late Allen Walker and the late Jessie Mae McNair in Laurinburg, North Carolina. Minnie’s early years were filled with love and care from Martha Lennon in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was educated in the Cumberland County School Systems. On Thursday, July 4th, Minnie peacefully departed this life at Highland Rehabilitation.
Minnie was a beacon of warmth and kindness. She dedicated herself to her work in food service as a waitress until her health no longer permitted. Her infectious smile and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered, as she truly never met a stranger.
Minnie shared a deep and loving bond with her husband, Terry T. Douglas, and was a cherished and supportive presence in the life of her daughter, Destiny Hill. She was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Walker and sister Cathy Walker, whom she cherished deeply.
Minnie’s life was a testament to her faith and love for her church family. She was a dedicated member of Country Club Church of Christ, where she attended faithfully and found joy in participating in the ladies' lectureships. Her involvement and presence were a source of inspiration and strength to many.
Minnie’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her church family, numerous friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her warm heart and vibrant spirit will be profoundly missed.
A memorial service to celebrate Sassy's life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Country Club Church of Christ. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring the life of a beloved friend and family member.
