It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deven Thomas Sandoval, a beloved son, brother, and friend. Deven, 22, left us on December 7, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.

Born on May 26, 2001, Deven was a proud 2019 graduate of Overhill High School. Affectionately known as "Dev" or the biggest joker and prankster, he brought joy and light into the lives of everyone he touched. Deven had a heart full of love and was notorious for his warm hugs—he truly was the sweetest young man.

Deven’s love knew no bounds; he cherished his friends and family, always putting their needs before his own. His dedication to his brothers and his unwavering commitment to hard work were evident in his role as a dedicated driver at Amazon. Recognized as the best driver, Deven earned accolades for his outstanding contributions.

In our hearts, Deven will forever remain a shining example of kindness, hard work, and love. His departure has left a void that cannot be filled, and he will be deeply missed by his grieving family, friends, and coworkers whose pain is immeasurable.

May Deven Thomas Sandoval rest in eternal peace, his memory living on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

A balloon release in memory of Deven will take place on December 13 at 6:30 PM at Edward Mendoza Municipal Park in Spring Lake, North Carolina. Additionally, a memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2 PM at the Patterson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Friends and family are warmly invited to join in commemorating Deven’s life during this gathering.
