In Loving Memory of Destiny Evon Kay Horne: A Beloved Soul Now Resting with the Angels
Destiny Evon Kay Horne, a beautiful soul, left us in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 25th, to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on April 16, 1994, in Fayetteville, NC, and her time on this Earth was filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments.
Destiny's life was a testament to the strength of family bonds and the warmth of friendship. She is survived by her loving parents, Michele Horne and Ronnie McDowell, who cherished and supported her every step of the way. Destiny's journey was further enriched by her very special aunts and uncle, Candace, and Darrell Peters, and Michelle Crafa whose love and care brought immense joy to her life.
Throughout her life, Destiny experienced the pain of loss, but her spirit remained resilient. She now joins her maternal and paternal grandparents, her brother Jesse McDowell, stepmother Sylvia McDowell, aunt Heather Thrash, and Uncle Thomas Thrash in eternal peace. The memories of their time together will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Destiny's most cherished role was that of a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Pocahontas. The bond they shared was a source of endless happiness, and Destiny's love for her daughter knew no bounds. Pocahontas will carry her mother's love with her always, guided by her presence from above.
In addition to her daughter, Destiny leaves behind a family who adored her. Her mother Michele Horne, father Ronnie McDowell, and Ronnie's wife Cathy were pillars of support and affection in her life. Destiny's siblings, Anthony Winstead and Hunter McDowell, and her sisters Alexia Horne, Jade McDowell, and Tori Byers, were her companions and confidantes, sharing in life's joys and challenges.
Destiny's heart was filled with love for her nephew Elijah Richardson, and she was eagerly anticipating the arrival of a niece, whose birth will be a symbol of new beginnings and hope for the future.
Beyond her immediate family, Destiny was embraced by a host of cousins, extended family members, and a village of friends. Her magnetic personality and genuine kindness made her a treasured friend to many. She leaves behind countless cherished memories of laughter, love, and shared experiences that will be held dear by all who knew her.
As we bid farewell to Destiny, let us hold on to the love and memories she gifted us. May her soul find eternal rest, and may her light continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence. Rest in peace, dear Destiny Evon Kay Horne. Your memory will forever live on, and you will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives you grace
