Lillis Adams was born on December 13, 1944, to the late Colon McDonald and Minerva McDonald Curry, in Fayetteville, NC. She entered into rest on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She completed her education at Fayetteville Tech Community College. She retired from Cape Fear Valley Medical Center’s Labor and Delivery Unit. Her fondest memories were spent with her family and loved ones. She was loved by everyone. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Bettie Jean McDonald, Lois Lovingood, Martha McDonald, and Mittie Bennett. She leaves to cherish her memories: her significant other of 32 years, Hosea King; her five children, Poncé (Stella) McDonald of Charleston, SC, Iveena Henderson of Chester, VA, Sibyl Pratt of Woodbridge, VA, Michael Burton of Fayetteville, NC, and Brechelle Pinkett of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters, Marjorie McDonald Brewington and Geraldine McDonald, both of Fayetteville, NC; brother, Kenneth (Shena) McDonald of Fayetteville, NC; eleven grandchildren, Jonathan Pratt, Ikeena Henderson, Poncé McDonald, Ionna Henderson, Kenneth McDonald, Amber Pratt, Mylecieé Burton, Carrington Burton, Brekeah Finney, Nikelle Pinkett, Taylor Pinkett, and Skye Burton; nine greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
